About San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center (SDCOC)

The San Diego Contracting Opportunity Center (SDCOC), also known as Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), is a program of Southwestern College/Foundation funded by local government agencies and the Department of Defense. Our mission is to provide technical assistance to San Diego County Small Businesses that want to do business with federal, state and local government agencies.  Services are provided at no cost to small businesses due to the generosity of local sponsors..

Since 1995, the first full year of operation, SDCOC clients have attributed more than $250 million in government contract awards to the technical assistance provided by the SDCOC. Over 5000 jobs have been created or retained as a result of these awards.

There are over 135 federal, state and local government agencies in the San Diego County area who spend Billions each year on all types of goods and services. However, only 35% to 40% of that spending is done in San Diego County. We hope to increase this percentage by helping San Diego businesses participate in more government procurements. Throught individual counseling and workshops the SDCOC assists small businesses to understand how to work with government agencies. SDCOC provides small businesses with access to thousands of bid opportunities per month. Bidding opportunities from over 1000 governement buying offices are provided electronically to clients on a daily basis.  For small businesses in the consturction industry SDCOC offeres a Bid Plan Room.
